Contents 1 Sypnosis 2 Setting 3 Episodes 4 Characters 4.1 Heroes 4.2 Neutral 4.3 Villains 4.4 Fictional 5 Behind the scenes Tracker Honest Game Trailers | Tales of Arise X dslogo Sypnosis After not speaking to one another for a decade, Scrooge McDuck is reunited with Donald Duck after he and his three nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie move into McDuck Manor. The presence of the newcomers rekindles Scrooge's spirit of adventure, leading the group to go on numerous new treasure-hunting expeditions, while the nephews and their new friend Webby uncover the truth behind what caused their uncles to become estranged and retire from adventuring.
Setting The series takes place in the 2017 Continuum, featuring its versions of places and characters from the Prime Universe as well as many new locations and faces. In addition to reintroducing elements of the original DuckTales, the series also incorporates elements from other shows of the Disney Afternoon period, including TaleSpin, Goof Troop, Darkwing Duck, The Wuzzles, Adventures of the Gummi Bears, and Quack Pack. It also includes elements from works of comic writers like Carl Barks and Don Rosa, such as characters who have never before appeared in animation.
In a unique situation, showrunner Francisco Angones also confirmed on Twitter that the narratives of Goof Troop, A Goofy Movie and An Extremely Goofy Movie, all works which primarily take place in the classic universe, were all simultaneously canonical to the world of DuckTales 2017. In contradiction with Angones's statements that Goofy really is a photographer in the real world and that the "Spoonerville mythos" is explicitly canonical, Tad Stones suggested an alternative interpretation based on Gene the Genie's statement that Goofy was a "big-name guest star," where in which “the existence of the Goofy movies is canon. That doesn't mean that the events of the movie are canon. Logically, Goofy is a media star of movies and TV, not a neighborhood dad. He was the star of the two movies, following a script”.

It was originally conceived as a fifth season continuation for the original show having the family find and rescues Scrooge before it was decided that it would serve as a reboot of the Disney comics universe as a whole, making it the first Disney Afternoon show to get revived or rebooted in animation form. The series are based on the original DuckTales series (plus other Disney Afternoon shows), and on Carl Barks' Uncle Scrooge stories. A second season was confirmed by Disney on March 2, 2017, via Twitter and premiered on August 12, 2017, and it was broadcasted repeatedly for 24 hours straight.

A Fandom user · 2020-03-25 Ok who in their right mind thinks the show will end this year? you don't put an end year unless it's certain. Please edit
User avatar Scrooge MacDuck · 2020-03-25 It's actually quite likely the show might end this year but that's besides the point. Thus far, the show has aired between 2017 and 2020, because 2021 hasn't happened yet one way or another and the Wiki doesn't foretell the future. The "2020" year in the infobox should be taken to meant that thus far the show has aired until 2020; it should not be assumed to imply that it definitively won't air further in the future. Though again, no Season 4 is yet announced.
User avatar Wild starfish · 2020-04-25 the 2020 should say present until the season finale because as of yet we don't know when the season will end
Write a reply Gugaantony · 2020-02-14 I hope Emil Eagle makes a surprise animated debut in the reboot of DuckTales, but Fethry Duck, John D. Rockerduck, Jeeves, Neighbor Jones, Bombie the Zombie and the nephews' mother Della Duck already appear.
(Edited by Gugaantony) Write a reply A Fandom user · 2020-02-06 I think it might be cancelled because on Disney+ it says 2017-2018 and the last episode was over a year ago now.
A Fandom user · 2020-02-06 Nope. Season 3 is currently in production.

Write a reply A Fandom user · 2019-11-15 I have seen the Season 3 Ducktales poster and I am surprised that it has so many characters from other shows besides Donald Duck and his family like Drake Mallard and his daughter Gosalyn, Kit Cloudkicker and Molly Cunningham, Goofy, The Wuzzles, Chip and Dale and the Rescue Rangers and so many others. Since it has an extra-large cast, I'm sure that experts on shows would compare this cartoon to It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. I mentioned this movie because it's known for an extra-large cast of famous actors and it's an extra-length movie, intermission included.

Are they actually? That doesn't feel like the right name for it. This isn't the acutal Disney Afternoon, after all. I think the term "Disney Afternooniverse" would better apply to the universe of the original DuckTales, Darkwing Duck, TaleSpin, Goof Troop, and Chip 'n' Dale: Rescue Rangers, not to the reboot of DuckTales.
User avatar Kilmarnock228 · 2019-11-19 @themidgetmoose the reboot is a REIMAGINING of those franchises, and may well expand beyond DuckTales at some point. The original Disney Afternoon shows were loosely connected at best; several of them are implied if not outright stated by creators to take place in separate universes. I mean, there are humans in Rescue Rangers, whereas Darkwing saw humans one time and referred to them as “beakless mutants”.
User avatar TheMidgetMoose · 2019-11-19 Kilmarnock228,
Though there may be scattered pieces of evidence that shows from the original Disney Afternoon lineup were not in the same universe, comics based on the properties sort of blow that out of the water. The Legend of the Chaos God in particular comes to mind as a comic that solidly places TaleSpin, DuckTales, Goof Troop, and Darkwing Duck in the same universe. Arguably, this isn't an example of a "Disney Afternooniverse", as these were comics, not TV series that were a part of the Disney Afternoon. However, DuckTales 2017 isn't a part of the Disney Afternoon either. The Legend of the Chaos God probably has a better argument than DuckTales 2017 for using the term "Disney Afternooniverse" (not that the writers of the comic ever did use that term) to describe the universe in which the story takes place. DuckTales 2017 changes many, many, many things about the Disney Afternoon versions of the characters they are rebooting. It's pretty clearly a separate universe from the original Disney Afternoon properties. The Legend of the Chaos God, on the other hand, does not indicate itself to be a separate universe from and is much more faithful to the Disney Afternoon properties. My point is that what DuckTales 2017 is doing is not entirely new, and they are much farther removed from the original Disney Afternoon properties than other attempts to connect Disney Afternoon properties. Heck, DuckTales 2017 isn't even really connecting Disney Afternoon shows. They're connecting rebooted, reimagined versions that aren't in continuity with the classic versions. Stories such as Legend of the Chaos God connected versions of the Disney Afternoon properties that were at least supposed to be in continuity with the original TV series. DuckTales 2017 doesn't even pretend to be in continuity with DuckTales Classic.
Anyways, I apologize for the rambling, and the long post is by no means an indicator of anger or bitterness towards you. I just don't really apprectiate the creators of DuckTales 2017 wanting to use a name that doesn't really apply to what they are doing since they are not the Disney Afternoon and they are connecting rebooting, reimagined versions of the Disney Afternoon that do not even pretend to be in continuity with the classic TV series as opposed to comics such as Legend of the Chaos God that attempted to connect the original versions instead of rebooted versions.
A Fandom user · 2019-11-19 Maybe it could be called "Disney Afternooniverse 2017", because it is a shared universe of the 2017 Continuum versions of the Disney Afternoon shows.
